Long Time No Post

Ok, so it's been awhile since we last spoke. I've been on the run constantly and haven't been able to drop any new post. Funny how one moment everything looks sweat as a can of Tahitian Treat and the next it's like someone took that can, shook it up, and sprayed it's contents right in your eyes. But oh well, life's a beach... and so we move on. Which brings me to my latest post, one of my favorite English bands are finally back after a long hiatus. Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, & Russel Hobbs, collectively known as the Gorillaz has dropped their latest album "Plastic Beach". Crafting the effort over the last 3 years, Damon Albarn & Jamie Hewlett has now unleashed a futuristic monster onto the world. A new millennium them prevails throughout, as the the group not only hooks back up with De La Soul on the crazy bubbly Superfast Jellyfish, but enlist the help of Mos Def, Little Dragon, British MCs Kano & Bashy, and Bobby Womack samples. I gotta say, I was surprised to see that they also managed to get Snoop on the album's lead off track. The first single off the album, Stylo featuring the aforementioned Mos Def and Bobby Womack is a psychedelic thrill ride blending old school funk with futuristic freshness. The insuring video is a basket case, the normally 2D band members make their 3D debut in a skit that plays out more like a Tarantino flick than something you would normally watch on MTV. Here, see for your self.
